We Plant NYC has been helping NYC breathe a little better since 1999. It all started with a vision, $200, a case of vases, fresh flowers from 28th street and some potted plants from Long Island.
We were on our way towards understanding the importance that flowers and plants have on our everyday lives, and how they can help enhance spaces for all to enjoy.
5 Boroughs of NYC
The company has evolved and grown over the years, now specializing in rooftop gardens, green roofs and maintenance proudly 2019 will be our 20th year doing business in the 5 boroughs that make up New York City.
We are committed to planting trees in this ever-changing climate and making the New York City area a little greener one space at a time through eco-friendly, cost-efficient and eco-conscious designs.
We don’t just install it, we live it. We are fully insured, NYHUD Certified for New Construction and all of our employees are OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certified.
Thomas Salamone
Our founder, Thomas Salamone, understands the benefits that these unconventional landscapes offer and is excited that We Plant NYC is a leader in this area.
Under Thomas’ leadership, We Plant NYC has designed, constructed and maintains hundreds of thousands of square feet of green roofs in the NYC area, This includes reviving and maintaining one of the largest green roofs in New York City at Silvercup Studios – the current home to Madam Secretary, Jack Ryan, Divorce, Elementary and previously hosted shows having the opportunity to landscape set design on and including 30 Rock, Ugly Betty, Third Watch, Sopranos, and Sex and the City.
For the past 15 years, our company is also responsible for creating, installing and maintaining the film studio’s interior plantscapes, NYC street trees, green roof, and rooftop garden.
Kent Ave Ferry Park in Brooklyn
One of our proudest projects is over a 10-year span at Kent Ave Ferry Park in Brooklyn developing an era of public parks and waterfront amenities in collaboration with Developers, Landscape Architects and Senior Officials at the NYC Parks Departments we have created and restored a eco-conscious waterfront and public green space.
Not only do we install plants, we store, house and grow them on our 10 acre nursery in the Hudson Valley. We source and cultivate a variety of species zoned for the New York City area to ensure that the plants thrive and make your garden space look great!
We love what we do and we believe this small difference planting one rooftop at a time will leave a big difference for the next generation!
